Residential Concrete Frequently-Asked Questions

Do I need to do anything to prepare for having concrete poured on my property?

Make sure you’ve removed any furniture, construction materials, or other items from the space where we’ll be pouring your concrete, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Do you pour concrete during the winter?

This is a seemingly simple question with a tough answer. Yes, we sometimes pour outdoor concrete in the winter, if the weather is right for it. Colder temperatures mean your concrete needs a longer curing time, and if it’s too cold, or there’s snow or rain in the forecast, you won’t get the results either of us want or expect. That said, we’ll always make sure your project is done in a timeline that meets your needs and fits with your schedule and the weather. This may mean delaying certain projects until the time is right.

What is the difference between colored and stained concrete?

If you don’t want the standard gray concrete color for your patio or driveway, we can add a stain or a colored dye to get the look you want. Stain chemically reacts with the concrete, while dye permeates it. Stains work well outdoors, but dyes can fade in the sun and may need a UV coat to look good in the long-term. If you’re interested in either of these, let us show you some examples of our past work to help you choose.

What is stamped concrete?

You might have heard it called textured or imprinted concrete, but it means the same thing. We apply a premade stamp to the wet concrete so that it looks like a flagstone or slate patio. We can even make it look like ceramic tile, brick, or wood. Stamped concrete is a good option for you if you don’t like the look of traditional, flat concrete.

How much does a concrete slab cost?

Concrete slabs are priced by the square foot based on the market rate for poured concrete. For an exact cost, request an estimate by calling us at (405) 627-8079.
